Oliver Bonas Summer Picks

I've loved Oliver Bonas for a few years now and I always went to the shop when I was in Edinburgh as this was my closets store. So you can imagine my excitement when they recently opened a new store in Aberdeen.

On Friday I spent a long time looking through everything and have decided I need everything haha. Below is a selection of the few things I am lusting after. I'll link everything where possible.

I love these little heart shaped spoons, they'll add a little bit of colour to my morning coffee.

Ever since I was a child I have been obsessed with little bunnies. These Salt And Pepper Rabbits will definitely be added to my kitchen.

How cute is this Tiny Turtle Cord Silver Bracelet? I thought it was turtly awesome! See what I did there? Haha

I love this Luxe Round Bamboo Drinks Trolley because everyone needs a drinks trolley, right?!

Beatrix Milk Jug is a cute mix of vintage and modern and I think it's a cute summer addition to your afternoon tea.

Love this Set Of Tumblers great for adding an injection of colour into your kitchen.

I thought these Heart Shaped Bowls bowls would be perfect for taking foodie Instagram photos.

At least once a year I replace my make up bag as even though I try to keep it clean it always seems to get make up all over it. This Flamingo Sketch Make Up Bag will be the perfect addition to my handbag.

Lastly I love these Coral Bamboo Bowl for little trinkets or for using in the kitchen.

What are your favourite picks?

Snow Capped Fairy Cakes... Melted... Apparently

Let me start by saying I certainly won't be entering Bake Off 2016 with tonights' efforts...

I really fancied baking some festive cupcakes today and came across this BBC Good Food Recipe.

What you will need:

175g Butter
175g Golden Caster Sugar
3 Eggs
200g Self-Raising Flour
Finely Grated Zest 1 Orange
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
4 Tablespoon Milk
For the Icing:
1 Egg White
4 Tablespoon Orange Juice
175g Icing Sugar
Decoration For Fairy Cakes

Heat oven to 190C/fan 170C/gas 5 and line a muffin tin with cupcake cases (I made 17 although the recipe says 18).
Combine all cake ingredients and spoon evenly into cases. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire rack.

I found the icing to be to really difficult - I went wrong somewhere, even though the recipe says it is "moderately easy!" Put the egg white and orange juice in a heat proof bowl and sift in icing sugar and set pan on a pan of simmering water. With an electric hand whisk, whisk for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and then whisk for a further 2 minutes.

My favourite part - decorating! :D
Overall I did think it was a fun recipe to do but I just need to practise on the snowy icing. If you try the recipe I'd love to see if your icing came out better than mine use the #sophiesfairycakes on Twitter and Instagram.

Define Good...

Define Good...What a name! A lot of the time I buy nail polish because of it's name, this was definitely one of those times. Also because it's Christmassy and if you hadn't guessed by now I LOVE Christmas!

This polish was from China Glazes Twinkle Christmas Collection 2014 but it is still available here from AmazonThis nail colour is very matalic and sparkly - which I love! The colour pay off is great near enough opaque with just one coat which makes it a good choice if you are in a rush but want some colour on your nails. With the Essie Super Duper Strong Top Coat the colour last for about four days without chipping which is pretty good! This is the first China Glaze polish I have used before and I would buy from them again.

Lots of Love,

Sophie

P.s We put up our Christmas Tree last night which I wanted to share with you.
